I started reading comics with a ratty copy of Marvel's "Transformers" #1, followed in short order by such memorable titles as "Alf" and "Madballs." After growing out of those, I came back to comics when a friend bought me the "Death of Superman" trade--event comics work! I followed the characters seen there into "Justice League," which, rummaging through back issues, got me hooked on Giffen/DeMatteis/Maguire's "JLI," still one of my absolute favorite series. I read Steven T. Seagle and Teddy Kristiansen's "House of Secrets" long before I was ready, which cemented my interest in Vertigo and other Mature Readers and indie books. Now, I've been reading comics longer than I haven't and enjoy a little bit of everything.
I have written for CBR since 2006. By day I am an Academic Marketing Manager for the University of Michigan Press, which is awesome in an entirely different way.
