Artist in Residence: Rich Sigberman @ Cartoon Art Museum, San Francisco

The Cartoon Art Museum hosts artist Rich Sigberman on Saturday June 22, 2013 from 12pm to 4pm as a part of its on going Cartoon-in-Residence program. Museum visitors will be offered the chance to talk to Rich, view and buy his work. This event is free and open to the public.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Rich Sigberman exhibited interest in art at an early age when he took a ballpoint pen and scribbled over the surface of his mother’s dresser. His passion for art now spans over five decades of dedication as a full time artist and illustrator.

Rich attended Albany State University, New York, as an art major and continues his training at the School of Visual Art Students League in New York City. Rich received his BA in Art from Empire State University where he studied with the painter, Margit Beck, in an independent study program there.

Rich Sigberman’s great interests include jazz music, comic strip art, poster art, animation, and advertising images from the turn of the century through the 1950s. His art reflects these themes thought his use of bold images and colors. For more information, check out: http://www.sigsart.com/
