"Saga's" Vaughan & Staples Look Forward to Telling Hazel's Story
Start Time: 06:30PM End Time: 09:30PM
Join us for an evening with Bob Fingerman and Frank Conniff in celebration of Fingerman's solo exhibit in the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art Gallery here at the Society of Illustrators. The lecture will be followed by a reception and book signing.
Bob Fingerman is the award-winning, Eisner-nominated, internationally published creator of comics and graphic novels such as Beg the Question, You Deserved It, White Like She and Recess Pieces, as well as the novels Bottomfeeder and Pariah. In Bottomfeeder, Fingerman took on the vampire genre, tossing away the typical gothic and romantic trappings in favor of telling the down to earth story of a working class Queens-bred vampire. In his graphic novel, From the Ashes, he pitted he and his wife, Michele, against the mutant-rich post-apocalyptic ruins of New York City. His most recent offering is the massive Maximum Minimum Wage, from Image Comics.
Frank Conniff is a writer and comic best known for his portrayal of TV's Frank on Mystery Science Theater 3000. He's lent his wit to such shows as Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Invader Zim and these days is involved as both writer and performer on Current TV's Viewpoint.
