Johns & Frank Aim for 'Surprising and New' in Latest "Batman: Earth One" Volume
The fifth in a series of shows at Eastern Michigan University devoted to original cartoon and comic art curated by Eastern art history professor, Richard Rubenfeld, KAPOW! Comics Return to EMU runs March 10 through April 16, 2014 in the University Gallery at Eastern Michigan Universtiy, “KAPOW! Comics Return to EMU” features hundred of pieces of original comic art, with pieces from a wide array of artists, including David Petersen (“Mouse Guard”), comic book legend Joe Kubert, Jeff Smith and dozens of others. Nearly everyone’s favorite character will be represented in some capacity, some in never-before-seen pieces.
The show opens on Monday, March 10, with an opening reception occurring Wednesday, March 12 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. The Opening Reception, like the show, will be hosted in the University Gallery located in the Student Center. Show hours are Mondays and Thursdays 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Details about the Student Center, including directions, can be found here: https://www.emich.edu/studentcenter/
