Heroes For Hire #11

“Fear Itself” creeps into the “Heroes For Hire” title with a surprisingly effective issue that gives both Misty Knight and Elektra lots of cool moments.

Thor: First Thunder #1

Marvel has been putting out more Thor that you can shake an enchanted Uru cane at. Alas, this is another good Thor story.

Realm of Kings: Imperial Guard #5

Gladiator finally joins the Imperial Guard in battle. I’m thinking those crazy Lovecraftian X-Monsters are going to not like that.

What If? Spider-Man: House of M #1

Peter Parker’s conflict over dual lives thanks to the Scarlet Witch should make for interesting, emotionally-driven stories, but that’s not what happens here. No, what happens here is a very bad comic book.

Abnett and Lanning bring some action and characterization to Gladiator's Legion of Super-Guardians, and it looks nice too.

Superman/Batman #65

Peter Johnson and Matt Cherniss write "Superman/Batman" with an overly-familiar story, but the art here is lovely.

Blackest Night: Titans #1

"Blackest Night" falls over Titans Tower. As with anything that falls over Titans Tower, this is going to get ugly, but in a good story kind of way.

As "Marvels: Eye of the Camera" moves closer to the present day, the larger point of this return to Phil Sheldon's life is more clear—and more exciting too.
