When "Man of Steel" star Henry Cavill reprises his role as Superman in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," his character will be in a much different place. As Cavill revealed in an interview with Empire Magazine, his character will be investigating Batman for The Daily Planet and shacking up with Lois Lane when we first see him in Warner Bros.' upcoming DC Cinematic Universe installment. Additionally, the film will develop Superman and Lex Luthor's growing animosity towards one another.
"Clark knows who this Lex Luthor chap is, but he certainly wouldn't assume that he had any bad intentions," Cavill explained. As it turns out, however, Lex Luthor will be working with Batman in order to take Superman down.
"Rather than just 'Alien v Predator,' where you have two monsters and they're gonna fight, you have two people who really, truly believe they are doing something heroic and necessary in their conflict," added Ben Affleck, who will play Batman opposite Cavill's Superman.
Clark Kent will also be living with Lois Lane when the movie begins. "It's not a normal relationship. How could it be? One of them is an alien," Cavill said. What's more, he adds how Lois' penchant for getting to the bottom of a story despite personal risk is "messing" with Superman, who struggles with prioritizing her safety over everyone else's.
As to Superman's Clark Kent persona, he shared, "[Clark] is the human side of the character, but there is often this idea that Clark and Superman must be so different... He's being himself, only he's presenting a different front while he's in these different outfits."
