In a recent interview promoting his current film, "In The Heart of the Sea," Holland said filming his first taste of superheroics in "Captain America: Civil War" has only served to heighten his desire to relaunch the iconic hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
"Civil War will be a brilliant movie, a huge movie and I'll have the support of the success of that movie so that I can go on to my own," the star told the Belfast Telegraph. "It was also a real eye-opener to what it will be like when I start my film. I think the problem with 'Civil War' for me was that it made me 10 times more excited to start on 'Spider-Man,' but we don't start for months, so I've got to sit on that excitement for the moment."
Holland's Spider-Man/Peter Parker will appear in 2016's "Civil War," although it's still a mystery just how big his part will be in the film as Spider-Man has been noticeably absent from trailers and promo art for the movie. Spider-Man's next film, directed by Jon Watts, arrives in theaters July 28, 2017.
