Darwyn Cooke Superman sketch up for auction as part of a benefit for Sylv Taylor.

Sylv Taylor, wife of "A Voice in the Dark" creator Larime Taylor, needs to raise money to pay for chemotherapy, and an online comics art auction aims to help do just that.

Website Comicsheatingup.net has organized an online auction via eBay of original sketches to help raise money for an ongoing fundraiser to help cover the costs of Sylv Taylor's chemo. The bulk of the sketches are by Larime Taylor himself, who, along with his comic book art, works as a caricature artist on the Las Vegas Strip. Additionally, art from a variety of high-profile artists are up for auction, including Darwyn Cooke, Howard Chaykin, Terry Moore, Jimmie Robinson, Tim Bradstreet, Andrew C. Robinson and Tommy Castillo.

As Taylor has written on the GoFundMe page for his wife's fundraiser, a variety of complicated issues have made paying for chemotherapy even more difficult for the couple. Sylv Taylor was born in Canada, and due to bureaucratic entanglements, is not a legal resident of the United States, despite living in the country since 1994 and being married to a citizen since 1997. In December 2014, she was diagnosed with endometrial cancer, and while Emergency Medicaid paid for surgery, it does not cover chemo.

Larime Taylor himself is disabled, which has limited his income; he was born with a condition called arthrogryposis and writes and draws his comics by mouth, using a Wacom tablet. Sylv Taylor, who is legally blind, has collaborated with her husband on "A Voice in the Dark" as a colorist and cover artist. The couple has raised $19,136 as of press time for their GoFundMe campaign, which started this past October.

If you're interested in any of the art up for auction, you need to move fast -- bidding ends at 4 p.m. PT on Thursday, Feb. 11.
