SPOILER WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for the latest episode of "DC's Legends of Tomorrow," titled "Fail-Safe."
While photos released prior to the airing of "Fail-Safe" featured Stephen Amell as the bearded Oliver Queen of the future, the "Arrow" star didn't make an appearance in the closing scene as fans might have expected. Instead, viewers were treated to the debut of Connor Hawke (Joseph-David Jones).
In the comics, Connor is the son of Oliver and Sandra Hawke, his college girlfriend. The young archer grows up to be a confident martial artist and, as happens often in the DC Universe, the son took over the Green Arrow mantle in the late '90s when Oliver was believed dead -- most notably in Grant Morrison and Howard Porter's "JLA" run.
While little is known about this Connor Hawke, outside of the fact that he's an archer, wearing a Green Arrow uniform and using a voice modulator, the "Legends of Tomorrow" team did stress in the initial announcement of the character's debut that the "Legends" version is not Oliver's son.
His relationship to Oliver will likely not remain a mystery for long. A photo tweeted by Amell after the show aired indicates Oliver will arrive on the scene, presumably to broker peace between Connor and the time-traveling Legends.
