Each week, AXEL-IN-CHARGE -- CBR's weekly Q&A with Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso -- includes the first looks at brand-new Marvel art from upcoming releases. This week's edition was a special installment featuring "Deadpool" series writer Gerry Duggan, joining Alonso to talk the Merc with a Mouth on the occasion of both the 20th Century Fox film's release, and the 25th anniversary of the character's first appearance in "New Mutants" #28. Befitting the occasion, the column included all-new Deadpool art, specifically pages from "Deadpool" #9 by Matteo Lolli, "Uncanny Avengers #7 by Ryan Stegman, "Spider-Man/Deadpool" #3 by Ed McGuinness and "Deadpool and the Mercs for Money" #2 art by Salva Espin. In case you missed it, here's all of that new art rounded up in one place -- "Deadpool" #9 is scheduled for release on April 6, "Uncanny Avengers" #7, "Spider-Man/Deadpool" #3 are out March 9 and "Deadpool and the Mercs for Money" #2 is due out March 16.

"Not everyone can do humor," Alonso said of what makes a good Deadpool artist. "It's a gift. Some people are magnificent draftsman, they can widescreen the daylights out of you, but they just can't make you laugh. It's not their thing. I'm pretty sure that Gerry will agree that every writer wants their script to get elevated by their artist -- they want their joke to be even funnier when it's drawn. That's the kind of artist we shoot for."
