Image Comics graphic novel "Sexcastle" is described as a "action romp in the style of classic '80s Action Film," and now it's on track to actually becoming a film. Deadline reports that Fox has acquired the rights to the Kyle Starks book, with some big names working on the adaptation.
Two of the creative forces behind Comedy Central hit "Workaholics" -- Kyle Newacheck, director of most of the episodes, and co-star Blake Anderson -- are on board, with Newacheck set to direct and Anderson on tap to play the title character, Shane Sexcastle. Joe and Anthony Russo, the all-star Marvel Studios directing team behind "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," the forthcoming "Captain America: Civil War" and the two-part "Avengers: Infinity War," will produce as part of their company Getaway Productions.
Starks confirmed the news on Twitter:
Yeah, Sexcastle has been optioned. Yes, the Russo Brothers are involved. Yes, Fox is involved. Yes, potentially a Sexcastle movie.— Kyle Starks (@TheKyleStarks) January 14, 2016
"Sexcastle" was released last March by Image. Here's the full official description: "The Former World's Greatest Assassin leaves the world of killing to a small town only to be pulled back in. An exciting action romp in the style of classic '80s Action Film."
