Krasinski became an action star in his own right in Michael Bay's "13 Hours."

Back in the early days of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, "The Office" star John Krasinski once auditioned for the role of Captain America. While the part eventually went to Chris Evans, he shared he couldn't be happier for his friend -- and hopes to someday join him in the MCU as his villain.

"Yeah! I'll take a Marvel movie anytime," he told DigitalSpy. "I mean, I love watching them, so I'd love to be a part of it."

"The Captain America thing was hilarious," he continued. "As much as I had so much fun doing it, and I definitely got to wear the suit and screen tested and all those things, and sign my life away that I wouldn't even talk about it so they're going to kill me now, thanks -- but as soon as I heard that Chris [Evans] was considering it, I applauded it. Chris is a good friend, and very, very good at what he does. I was so happy to see him do it."

"Maybe now I have to play a villain, where I fight Chris. That's what we need to do," he added.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and starring Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan and more, "Captain America: Civil War" -- the next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe -- opens on May 6, 2016.
