Speculation about a possible cameo by Carter, who famously played Wonder Woman on the 1970s television series, was reignited last week by Chris Pine, who stars in the film opposite Gal Gadot. Asked directly whether Carter would have a role, he replied, "If I could tell you that I wouldn't, but I can't."
The 64-year-old actress, who's active on social media, has been vocal in her support of efforts to bring Wonder Woman to the big screen and return her to television.
Directed by Patty Jenkins, "Wonder Woman" also stars Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya and Lucy Davis. The film opens June 23, 2017.
