The long awaited finale to Marvel Comics' universe-shattering event has been delayed a little longer.

According to a listing on Diamond Comics Distributors' website, Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic's "Secret Wars" #9 has been bumped from its release date of December 23, 2015 to January 6, 2016.

The event's repercussions are already being felt in Marvel's new series, as new #1 issues taking place following the conclusion of "Secret Wars" have been arriving in stores since October. The series was originally intended to run for eight issues, with the final chapter arriving in October. In August, with the series already delayed, Marvel announced that it was expanding it to nine issues, with the final installment intended to arrive in December.

According to Marvel's press release announcing #9, the issue was added to the schedule in order to allow the creative team to finish their "cataclysmic story" as intended.
