The Symbolism is Strong in New "Captain America: Civil War" Image

While "Empire's" newsstand cover pays homage to cover art from the Marvel Comics source material, the magazine's subscriber exclusive art for its upcoming "Captain America: Civil War" issue opts for some effective symbolism.

The variant cover features Cap's iconic shield, broken in half, alongside Iron Man's mask, also broken and battle-scarred -- much like the heroes' friendship.

The "Captain America: Civil War" "Empire" cover will hit newsstands on February 25; the exclusive variant will arrive for subscribers earlier in the week.
