When Negan arrives on "The Walking Dead," he'll come in swinging.

The season six finale of "The Walking Dead" is less than a week away, and fans are holding their breath as they await Jeffrey Dean Morgan's arrival as Negan. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Andrew Lincoln -- who plays Rick Grimes himself -- promised that Negan's big entrance will live up to expectations.

"I read the script and I went, 'This is the greatest entrance ever written,'" he shared.

"All of the guys were going, 'Aw, man. I wish I had gotten this guy!'" he added. "It's incredible. Although it's also kind of unbearable. Norman [Reedus] and I were like, 'Ugh, all the girls on set are gonna love him.'"

"Walking Dead's" Kirkman Promises "Unexpected," "Shocking" Negan Debut

"We've been talking about this guy for a long time," he explained. "It's probably the most important casting since Rick, really. Everybody needs a hero, but I think they probably need a really good baddie even more. Negan's incredibly charismatic. In this deranged society, there is a kind of logic to the way that he is running the place. He runs a tight ship, I'll tell you that much. I'm actually very impressed. I doff my cap to this man!"

Based on the Image Comics series of the same name and created by Robert Kirkman, "The Walking Dead" airs Sundays at 9 pm EST on AMC.
